Therefore is sightseeing of natural sights the leading motive for visiting Slovenia. The most precious territories of Slovenia are protected by legislation: Triglav National Park, Škocjan Caves Regional Park (enlisted at UNESCO Heritage), Kozjanski Park, Sečovlje Salt-Pans and even more natural monuments.

Several historic sites from prehistory, such as Potočka zijalka and an antique park in Šempeter in Savinjska Valley from the Roman times bear witness to cultural sights of Slovenia. Castles with architecture and painting treasures, numerous churches and monasteries with various collections, libraries and museums, in which Slovene history is collected and disposed, show wealth of the Middle Ages.
