Hotel Kenda Mansion*****
The roots of Kenda Mansion go back to the year 1377, when the first landowners were already running the farm above the Idrijca valley. In the traditional Spodnja Idrija, which was developing from the year 1156 on under the petronage of the parish church » Marija na Skalci », the solid and respectable Kenda family encouraged economic and cultural progress.
On the upper floor are eleven rooms, all furnished with antique furniture from 19th century. All the rooms which are named after the former residents of the Kenda family homestead are enriched with the elements and details of the local enthological haritage. Table cloths, curtains and bed linen are decorated with the handmade Idrija lace.
The Kenda cusine, similary to the period furniture, reflect the time and the authenticity of the town and its unique tradition. Dishes are prepared according to the welltried ancient recipes. Their exellens is further supplemented with the selected wines of the Slowene wine produsers. |
