Friday, 16. 4. 2004

The season of boat sightseeing tours on the Ljubljanica River will this year open on 24 April, immediately after the concluding event of the Making Ljubljana More Beautiful cleaning up project, which will include the cleaning up of the Ljubljanica river bed.

As soon as the river is cleaned up and the entertainment and cultural programme concluded, you can join one of the first three admission free promotional rides with departures at 3, 4 and 5 p.m. from the Ribji trg pier. Regular boat sightseeing tours of Ljubljana, either guided or unguided, are scheduled from 25 April to the end of October.
The tourist boat departs from the Ribji trg pier at the Cankarjevo nabrežje embankment in the immediate vicinity of the Triple Bridge (Tromostovje). From there it sails towards Dragon Bridge (Zmajski most), where it turns and sails back under several famous bridges of Ljubljana: the Triple Bridge and the Cobblers' Bridge (Čevljarski most), both built by the famous Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik, and St. James's Bridge (Šentjakobski most). It continues along the Trnovski pristan embankment and sails all the way to the Špica embankment, where it turns again and sails back towards the starting point.
